Overview of surfaces

Our value to trade detailers is providing enhanced routing information.

We provide customer value by applying current and newly released technologies.

It's our belief a combined technology approach is required for laser scanning to be more valuable .

We need photographic detail on a 3D model body, with the ability of accurately measurements within 4 mm.

Essentially

Trade detailers need photographic detail on a 3D model body, with the ability to take accurate measurements along the pipe route.

The movie below highlights the benefits of using laser scan data as surfaces. Designers and trade detailers use less time to interpret existing conditions, and we expect field walks to be reduced. This work flow opens the detailing market to those trade contractors located far from the work.

Interactive Laser Scan based surface model

These files were produced from circa 2014 Faro Focus entry level scanner. Better post processing filters could have been applied to reduce false data points which would greatly reduce to mesh created around surfaces. This filtering would result in mesh that represented the object with less distortion.
