Meeting Agenda

Agenda:

Objective:

Create a process (company product – tangible asset we sell) that greatly reduces use of traditional Autodesk / Intergraph product lines, with metrology technologies. Measure to replica. Just in time fabrication. Robotics.

Why:

I want to do this because I love construction, it can employ thousands of people, and current software roadmaps are a tangled web of inefficient solutions.

Executive Bullet Points:

  • Broadly stated BIM modelling / consulting requires a number [5 ~ 25] talented capable resources for short [3 ~ 9 months] {< $250 million dollar projects}
  • Smaller projects require less, [1~3 people, 1 ~ 6 weeks] i.e. $10 million to 250 million dollar projects
  • Equipping & educating a detailer is expensive – front loaded
  • Reasonable Modelling services and coordinating fees are effectively  reduced by domestic and off shore service providers
  • Smart owners keeping metrics realize BIM costs are yet another expense, which because of poor execution, deployments, and learning curves (staff resistance to change) do not show the ROI promised.
  • Autodesk, Intergraph, and a myriad of other providers do not care to make it better they are focused on corporate profits, thus marketing the next widget.

My solution to all this is metrology, and software automation. The automation takes the form of using API’s to make a single seat of software, (revit, Navis, Plant, Cadworx) a production robot churning out product. The goal with custom software is to exponentially increase how much “work” a single skilled operator can produce.

The metrology aspect is summed up in this presentation.
